Due to this, a buyer could use this Airstream in its current condition with limitations, but would be the perfect project for either recreational or business use. We have the Airstream parked on a property that is a bit rural, so there have been mice who have called this trailer home. So, we can't guarantee that it works and/or its current condition. We think that the Airstream does have its original awning still, but have never zipped it out of its case to see. This just needs to be glued back on in place. The veneer on the cabinet below the sink is warped from humidity we think and is starting to come off (you can see this in the pictures).
AIRSTREAMER LAND YACHT WINDOWS
We don't remember any leaks over the years and most of the windows work pretty well. One of the bed slides works good and the second one needs to be replaced (we have the slide already, but haven't had time to put it in). It has a stove and fridge (not sure if either work as we've never used them). The kitchen counter has a folding end that can provide additional counter space when needed. It sleeps up to four people on two slide out beds. The original marine toilet was removed prior to our purchase, but there's an area for a toilet to be reinstalled. The trailer does have a shower and sink in bathroom and kitchen sink (with filtration system), but we've never used any of these as we have no water source so we aren't sure if they work. Several lights and outlets work and we've even watched DVD movies in it. We have, however, hooked it up to electric by simply plugging in an extension cord. We have also never attempted to use any of the propane run systems such as the furnace, water heater and refrigerator. Our property does not have a well so we've never hooked it up to water or septic. It would probably look like new after a thorough cleaning and polishing treatment.Īs mentioned, this was mainly used as a shelter when we were up camping. It definitely shows some wear but it's pretty nice for its age and when compared to others out there. The aluminum shell is in pretty good shape still. We haven't had any frame or tire issues since we've had it. So, we're assuming that it can still be towed down the road, but give no guarantees. We have moved it around our property to different locations a few times without any issues since then. Other than this initial road trip, it has not been back on the road.

In 2013, we purchased this trailer and towed it with a Toyota Tundra pickup truck about 30 miles from the site of sale to our property with no issues. At 24 feet, this is one of the vintage Airstream's smaller units. How it managed to stay in as good of shape as it is for almost 55 years only provides testament to American mid-century craftsmanship. The only items that look to be updated are the upholstery, laminate flooring and white wall paint. Most of the original features are shown in the pictures.
